The Authority for Research and Development operates in accordance with the policies established by its Executive Committee, headed by the President of the university. The Chairman of the Authority is the university's Vice President for Research and Development, who supervises all the Authority's actions. The executive director of the Authority is responsible for its administrative activity.
The pre-award activities are conducted within four divisions based mainly on the geographic source of the research funding: America-Asia-Pacific, European Countries, European Union, and Israel. The intramural desk deals with funding from internal university sources.
Most of the financial activities, including the research budget auditing, is executed by budget managers within the Authority's financial unit.
Likewise, there is as well a range of additional designated positions within the Authority for promoting and fostering research activities at the Hebrew University, such as information management, logistics and other administrative functions.
